Lord, make us a refuge to the poor.
Help us prepare a feast for the hungry.
Teach us to wipe away the tears of those who mourn,
even as you shelter us, feed us, and wipe away our tears. Amen.
Shane Claiborne, Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove, Enuma Okoro, Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals (p. 84). Zondervan. Kindle Edition.
From the Book of Genesis through Revelation, the final book of the Bible, God makes the point about sheltering, feeding, and comforting those whom the world considers “poor.” Today, as we make our intercession, let us recognize the poverty in which we approach and are sheltered, fed, and comforted by God. ~Fr Dan
