A Morning Prayer on Saturday

A prayer for rest and renewal.

A prayer for Saturdays

Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all your works and sanctified a day of rest for all your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Collect for Saturdays from Morning Prayer in the Book of Common Prayer, p. 99

I have always liked this prayer on Saturday morning. May our rest here be blessed indeed. May our rested selves truly be renewed in giving thanks for the hope of new life in Jesus Christ ~Fr. Dan

Be well. Do good. Pay attention. Keep learning.
