Grant, we pray, Almighty God, that as we believe your only-begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ to have ascended into heaven, so we may also in heart and mind there ascend, and with him continually dwell; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
A Collect in Ascension week in The Book of Common Prayer, p. 226
Humanity, humankind, our flesh and blood, Jesus Christ, ascended. What began at Christmas as God took our flesh is now completed as our flesh is united to the divine “in heaven.” Forever. Everywhere. God in us. We in God. May we indeed be aware of this union and “with [God] continually dwell.” ~Fr. Dan
